5. How We Handle Reports
When a report is received, we follow this process:
- Acknowledgement — We acknowledge receipt of your report. For email reports, you will receive a confirmation within 24 hours. In-app reports are acknowledged immediately.
- Review — A member of our team reviews the reported content against this policy. We aim to complete reviews within 72 hours for standard reports and 24 hours for reports involving potential harm to a person or child safety concerns.
- Decision — We determine whether the content violates this policy. We consider context, severity, and whether the behavior is isolated or repeated.
- Action — We take appropriate action as described in Section 6. Content that violates this policy is removed. The user who posted it is notified (without identifying the reporter) and warned or suspended depending on severity.
- Follow-up — For email reporters, we notify you of the outcome of your report. In-app reporters receive a notification when the report is resolved.
6. Consequences for Violations
The action we take depends on the severity and nature of the violation. We use the following framework:
| Severity | Examples | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Spam, mild offensive language, accidental policy breach | Content removed. Written warning issued to user account. |
| Medium | Harassment, repeated spam, hate speech, impersonation | Content removed. Temporary account suspension (7–30 days). Second offense leads to permanent ban. |
| High | Explicit sexual content, credible threats, doxxing, severe harassment | Content removed immediately. Permanent account ban. All groups the user belongs to are notified of the removal. |
| Critical | CSAM, threats of imminent violence, content involving child exploitation | Content removed immediately. Permanent account ban. Mandatory report to NCMEC and/or law enforcement. All relevant data preserved for legal proceedings. |
7. Group Creator Responsibilities
If you create a cruise group in Lido Hoppers, you take on a basic level of responsibility for the content shared within that group. This includes:
- Only inviting people you know and trust to your group
- Removing members who post content that violates this policy (using the Remove Member option in the group settings)
- Reporting content that you cannot remove yourself to our moderation team
- Taking reasonable steps to maintain a respectful environment for all members
Group creators are not legally liable for the actions of group members, provided they act in good faith and report violations when they encounter them. However, group creators who knowingly allow prohibited content to persist in their groups may have their account suspended or banned.
Hoppers Connect Groups
Hoppers Connect groups are auto-generated for specific ships and sailing dates and are not managed by an individual group creator. All members of a Hoppers Connect group are equally responsible for the content they post. Reports from Hoppers Connect groups are handled directly by our moderation team.
