We just wrapped up our journey on the Ovation of the Seas, and as we stepped off the ship, it was a quiet, foggy morning at the Port of Los Angeles. The smooth and easy exit, combined with a quick breakfast in the Silk Dining Room, made the farewell feel relaxed despite the gloomy weather outside.

During our time aboard, we found plenty of interesting spaces to explore, from stunning views at the front and back of the ship to unique spots where adults could unwind. The ship offered some fun surprises and memorable moments that made our cruise truly enjoyable, even with a few minor bumps along the way.

Early Arrival at the Dock

We landed back at the Port of Los Angeles early in the morning. The weather was a bit foggy but pleasant. After docking, we headed straight down to deck 4 to enjoy the key breakfast before leaving the ship.

Discovering Quantum Class Highlights

We really enjoyed exploring the unique features of the Quantum class on Ovation of the Seas. One of our favorite spots was the 270 area, offering a 270-degree view off the back of the ship, perfect for watching the wake while enjoying a drink or light food like sandwiches and salads. The Solarium was another standout, an 18+ quiet zone with cascading pools, hot tubs, and a bar—great for relaxing away from the kids.

The North Star observation capsule was an impressive experience, rising 300 feet above the ship silently and smoothly with stunning views all around. Though we didn’t try the extended version, the basic ride, which is included, gave us amazing perspectives over the ocean and ports.

Getting around the Ovation was pretty simple for us. Debarkation was especially smooth, taking less than 15 minutes from breakfast to off the ship. One of our favorite social experiences was the Bionic Bar. Ordering drinks via tablet and having robotic arms prepare them was both fun and fascinating. It’s a new concept that adds an entertaining twist to the usual bar scene.

The Royal Esplanade provided a mall-like feel but felt a bit crowded with limited comfortable seating for just relaxing. Still, it had a lively energy. It’s a nice place to explore and people-watch, especially with nearby bars and eateries around.

On disembarkation morning, the foggy air added a calm mood as we docked back at the Port of Los Angeles. Standing near the ship, we enjoyed views of the USS Iowa battleship nearby—a cool sight to end the trip. The port atmosphere was relaxed, making the final moments aboard pleasant.

After a smooth breakfast on deck four, we gathered our luggage and headed to our car. Traffic on the 405 was as expected for a weekday morning, but manageable. Sitting in the car, we reflected on our trip while settling into the rhythm of the drive home.
