The Majestic Princess New England Cruise — The Complete Movie #PrincessCruises #CruiseMovie

We’re Christina and Tony, and we call ourselves the Leo Hoppers. We’ve created something special for you – a full-length movie that combines all the clips from our 7-day New England cruise on the Majestic Princess. Several people asked us to make longer videos, and while that seemed tough at first, we figured out a solution. We took our existing Majestic series videos and put them together into one complete movie.

The movie starts with our JetBlue Mint Class flight to Boston, including some footage we hadn’t shared before. Then you’ll see our Boston walking tour along the Freedom Trail before we board the ship. The rest of the movie takes you through every day of our cruise, from embarkation through all our port stops and sea days. We hope you’ll press play, hit that like button, and enjoy the journey with us.

Key Takeaways

  • We combined our 7-day Majestic Princess cruise videos into one full-length movie
  • The movie includes our JetBlue Mint flight, Boston adventures, and every day of our cruise
  • We show you our cabin tour, port stops in Portland and Saint John, and fun activities onboard

Planning the Majestic Princess Cruise

Our Reason for Making Majestic the Movie

We put together all of the clips from our 7-day New England cruise aboard the Majestic Princess into one long movie for you to enjoy. Several people asked us to make some longer videos. We thought about it and realized we couldn’t really do that. But we could put together videos we had already made into a movie.

We started with the Majestic series. The video starts with our flight over to Boston where we got to experience JetBlue’s mint class. There’s a little bit of video in there which we hadn’t shown before.

Then it has our Boston tours. We did a walking tour along the Freedom Trail. The video goes through boarding day and all of the days of our cruise. Each of our port stops is included. Some sea day shenanigans are in the video too.

Going on a Cruise With Loved Ones

We had two days in Boston before our Majestic Princess cruise. When we woke up on the first morning, it was pouring rain. We decided to rent a car and drive south to Plymouth, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island that day.

We wanted to make the most of our time. The weather was much better down in Plymouth. It was breezy and probably in the 70s with perfect weather. We were able to claim the day back by renting a car and turning it into a fun little escape.

Our plan was to go and have dinner at the Union Oyster House. It’s apparently the oldest continually operated restaurant in the United States. We were there the next day as well. The weather was nicer and we spent time in Boston proper. Our plan was to do the Freedom Trail and Boston Common.

Ways to Have a Calm Cruise

We visited several places before our cruise to make the experience more relaxed:

  • Plymouth, Massachusetts to see the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock
  • Cape Cod to check out the area
  • Providence, Rhode Island
  • Boston Common
  • The Freedom Trail

We ate at local spots along the way. We had clam chowder at Spanky’s Clam Shack in Hyannasport. We also ate lunch at the Union Oyster House in Boston. The clam chowder we had down in Cape Cod was actually better than the one at Union Oyster House.

We walked about 2 and 1/2 miles along the Freedom Trail. The trail goes by Paul Revere’s house and ends up at Bunker Hill. We followed special bricks that showed us we were on the right track. We saw many historical sites including cemeteries with famous people buried there and the Old North Church from 1723.

JetBlue Mint Class Flight to Boston

Our Experience Flying JetBlue Mint

We flew JetBlue Mint Class for the first time on our way to Boston. The seats were really nice and comfortable. We loved how much space we had to relax during the flight.

The entertainment system had a small problem when we first got on the plane. The movies weren’t working at first. The crew was trying to reset them to fix the issue. When we opened our headphones, they were broken too. We asked for new ones right away.

What We Got for Our Meal:

  • Pharaoh salad
  • Bread roll with butter
  • Lasagna
  • Sweet corn soup
  • Woodford Reserve with Pepsi Zero

The food smelled really good. We were probably just hungry but it tasted delicious. We both ordered the same meal except one of us skipped the soup. While we ate, we watched a show called The Luckiest Man on Earth. It was really interesting.

Despite the few small problems with the movies and headphones, we really enjoyed the JetBlue Mint experience. It was pleasant and comfortable. We would definitely recommend flying Mint Class.

Airport Arrival and Boston Plans

When we arrived in Boston, the weather was terrible. It was pouring rain that morning. We had two days in Boston before our Majestic Princess cruise started.

We decided to change our plans because of the bad weather. We rented a car and drove south to visit other places. Our new plan included stops in Plymouth, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island. We wanted to make the most of our time instead of staying in rainy Boston.

We planned to have dinner at the Union Oyster House. It’s the oldest restaurant in the United States that’s still open. We saved our Boston sightseeing for the next day when the weather would be better. Our plan was to walk the Freedom Trail and visit Boston Common.

Adventures in Boston Before Our Cruise

Visiting Plymouth, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island

We woke up to pouring rain in Boston on our first day. Instead of letting the weather ruin our plans, we decided to rent a car and drive south.

Our first stop was Plymouth, Massachusetts. We visited the Mayflower and walked over to see Plymouth Rock. The rock had 1620 carved into it. We thought it would be bigger than it actually was, but it was still pretty cool to see.

After Plymouth, we drove down to Cape Cod. We stopped at Spanky’s Clam Shack in Hyannasport for lunch. We tried a drink called “slap my clamshell and call me spanky.” They wouldn’t tell us what was in it, but it tasted like some type of rum drink.

What We Ate:

  • Bowl of clam chowder
  • Blackened cod and fries with coleslaw

The weather in Cape Cod was perfect. It was breezy and probably in the 70s. We walked through the town and checked out the lighthouse and marina. There were local artists and ferry services to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.

We finished the day by driving to Providence, Rhode Island before heading back to Boston. Our plan was to have dinner at the Union Oyster House, which is the oldest restaurant in the United States that has stayed open.

Food We Tried in Boston

We ate at the Union Oyster House during our trip. It was pretty good but nothing spectacular. We actually thought the clam chowder we had the day before in Cape Cod was better. It made for a decent lunch spot, but we weren’t blown away.

The restaurant is the oldest continually running and operating restaurant in America. It was crowded when we arrived, but we were able to get a seat.

Walking Boston Common and the Freedom Trail

We spent our second day in Boston walking the Freedom Trail. The weather was perfect with blue skies, a nice breeze, and low humidity.

The Freedom Trail is about 2 and a half miles long. It goes by Paul Revere’s house and ends at Bunker Hill. Special bricks on the ground marked the trail so we knew we were going the right way.

What We Saw:

  • Boston Common
  • Old cemeteries with famous people buried there
  • Benjamin Franklin’s grave
  • Sam Adams’s grave
  • Paul Revere’s grave
  • John Hancock’s grave

We walked through the historic parts of the city. There was an interesting mix of old buildings and newer architecture. The tour took us through Quincy Market and past Faneuil Hall.

Famous Sites Around Boston

We saw so many historic places during our walk. The Boston Massacre actually took place in the middle of an intersection we crossed. There was a statue of Samuel Adams near Faneuil Hall.

Right in the heart of Boston, we spotted a Boston duck tour vehicle. We wanted to try going on one but weren’t sure if we’d have time. Near Quincy Market, we found the most quiet and empty Margaritaville we’d ever seen.

Old City Hall stood next to a statue of Benjamin Franklin. Behind them was a Ruth Chris Steakhouse, which seemed funny next to all that history. We passed through a busy farmers market as we continued on the trail.

We walked by Paul Revere’s house, which is now a museum. We didn’t go inside at the time because we had more places to see.

The Old North Church and Memorial Sites

The Old North Church is the oldest standing church still in Boston. The date on the building is 1723. Paul Revere lit lanterns at the very top of the church to warn people about British troops marching. The signal was one lantern if by land, two if by sea.

This church was also where our friends got married in 2002. It’s a very historical place in the north end of Boston.

Right up the street from the Old North Church, we found Copp’s Hill burial grounds. We also saw a memorial with dog tags from soldiers who served in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. It was a cool little memorial that honored those who served.

We were about to cross the Charles River to continue our tour when we wrapped up this part of the Freedom Trail.

Getting on the Majestic Princess in Boston

Dealing with Boarding Day Challenges and Getting Around

We had two full days in Boston before our cruise started. The first day threw us a curveball with heavy rain. We decided to rent a car and drive south instead of staying in the wet city.

We visited Plymouth, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island to make the most of our time. The weather down south was much better than Boston. It was breezy and in the 70s with perfect conditions.

Our second day in Boston was completely different. We woke up to blue skies and nice weather. The humidity was low and there was a pleasant breeze. We walked the Freedom Trail which covered about 2 and a half miles through the city.

Our Pre-Cruise Boston Activities:

  • Flight to Boston on JetBlue Mint Class
  • Day trip to Plymouth to see the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock
  • Visit to Cape Cod and Hyannis Port
  • Lunch at Spanky’s Clam Shack
  • Walking tour of the Freedom Trail
  • Stop at Boston Common
  • Meal at Union Oyster House

How We Boarded the Ship

We were flying in from the West Coast to start our 7-day New England cruise. The cruise would take us through various port stops along the New England coast.

We used JetBlue’s Mint Class for our flight to Boston. The seats were comfortable and came with headphones. We got meals that included pharaoh salad, bread roll with butter, lasagna, and sweet corn soup.

The entertainment system had some technical issues during the flight. The movies weren’t working and the crew was trying to reset them. Despite a few kinks to work out, we really enjoyed the Mint experience.

What We Thought When We First Saw the Ship

Our Boston exploration gave us time to build anticipation for the cruise. We spent our pre-cruise days seeing historical sites and enjoying local food. The Freedom Trail took us past Paul Revere’s house, the Old North Church from 1723, and various burial grounds with famous historical figures.

We followed red bricks on the ground that marked the Freedom Trail path. The trail ended at Bunker Hill. Along the way we saw the spot where the Boston Massacre happened right in a busy intersection.

The contrast between old and new architecture in Boston was striking. We saw Benjamin Franklin’s statue, John Hancock’s memorial, and Sam Adams’ grave all mixed in with modern buildings and restaurants.

Our Majestic Princess Cabin Walk-Through

Mini Suite Features and What’s Inside

We stayed in a mini suite on the Majestic Princess. The room had plenty of space for the two of us.

The suite came with comfortable seating areas. We had a couch where we could relax after a long day of exploring ports.

Our room included a flat-screen TV. We could watch movies and shows when we wanted to unwind in the cabin.

The mini suite had a desk area. This gave us a spot to work or plan our daily activities.

We had a refrigerator in our room. It kept our drinks cold throughout the cruise.

The cabin came with complimentary toiletries. We didn’t have to worry about packing everything from home.

Balcony and Room Connections

Our mini suite had a private balcony. We could step outside and enjoy the ocean views whenever we wanted.

The balcony had two chairs and a small table. We sat out there in the mornings with coffee and watched the water.

We could feel the breeze and hear the waves from our balcony. It was nice to have this private outdoor space.

Our cabin was set up as a connecting room. This meant it could link to another cabin through a door.

The connecting door stayed locked during our cruise. We had the room to ourselves since we didn’t need the connection.

This type of setup works well for families or groups traveling together. They can book two rooms and have easy access between them.

Bathroom and Storage Space

The bathroom in our mini suite was bigger than standard cruise ship bathrooms. We had more room to move around and get ready.

We had a full bathtub with a shower. Most cruise cabins only have small shower stalls.

The bathroom counter had good space for our toiletries. We could spread out our items without things getting crowded.

Storage in the cabin was solid. We had a closet with hangers for our clothes.

There were drawers under the TV and in other areas. We could unpack our suitcases and put everything away.

We had space under the bed for our luggage. Once we unpacked, we slid our bags under there to keep the room tidy.

The cabin had shelves in the closet. We used these for shoes and smaller items we brought along.

Life Onboard the Ship

Top Places to Visit on the Ship

We explored so many cool spots throughout our time on Majestic Princess. The ship had lots of areas to check out and discover.

We spent time walking around and finding different places. Each location had something special to offer.

The Skywalk Experience

The Skywalk was one of the highlights we tried. It gave us a unique way to see the ship from a different angle.

This adventure let us walk out over the side of the ship. It was pretty cool to look down at the ocean below.

Food and Restaurants

We enjoyed different meals throughout our cruise. The dining options gave us variety each day.

The food was really good. We tried different dishes and found favorites along the way.

Fun Activities for Families

There were activities that families could do together on the ship. We saw people doing scavenger hunts and other games.

These activities kept everyone busy. It was a good way to spend time with family and have fun.

Shows and Performances

Entertainment was a big part of our cruise. The ship offered different shows we could watch.

We enjoyed the performances. They gave us something to do in the evenings.

Our Cabin Attendant

Our cabin steward took great care of our room. They made sure everything was clean and comfortable.

The service was excellent. Our steward paid attention to details and made our stay better.

Our Portland, Maine Adventure

Duck Tour Around the City

We hopped on a duck tour to explore Portland from both land and water. We spotted one of these amphibious vehicles right in the heart of the city. The duck boats are a fun way to see the sights without having to walk everywhere.

Trying Potato Donuts

We stopped at The Holy Donut to try their famous potato donuts. These aren’t your regular donuts. They’re made with potatoes, which gives them a unique taste and texture.

The shop had several flavors to choose from. We picked a few different ones to sample.

Shopping for Handmade Items

We walked through a local arts and crafts market in Portland. There were vendors selling handmade goods from local artists. The market had a mix of different items on display.

We browsed the stalls to see what was available. It was a good spot to find unique items you won’t see anywhere else.

Checking Out the Lighthouse

Portland has some beautiful lighthouse views along the coast. We made sure to visit one of the scenic lookout points. The lighthouse stood against the blue sky with water all around.

We took some time to enjoy the ocean views. The breeze off the water felt nice.

Pizza at Alfredo’s

For dinner, we ate at Alfredo’s Pizzeria. We ordered a pizza to share at our table. The restaurant was busy with other diners.

The pizza was pretty good. Nothing too fancy, but it hit the spot after a day of walking around Portland.

Our Cruise Shirt Collection

We always like to wear our favorite cruise shirts when we travel. These shirts remind us of past trips we’ve taken. We brought a few with us on this cruise.

Each shirt tells a story from a different voyage. It’s become part of our travel routine to pack them.

Getting to Saint John, Canada

Docking and Our First Thoughts

We pulled into Saint John early in the morning. The weather was cool and breezy as we made our way off the ship.

The port area looked different from other cruise stops we’d been to before. There were shipping containers everywhere, which we thought was interesting.

The Container Port Experience

Saint John’s cruise terminal was set up in an active shipping port. We saw lots of cargo containers stacked around the area.

The terminal itself was basic but functional. It had the essentials we needed before heading into town.

This wasn’t your typical fancy cruise port with lots of shops and restaurants. It was a working port that also happened to welcome cruise ships.

Walking Through the City Center

We walked from the port into downtown Saint John. The walk took us through some interesting streets with older buildings.

Downtown had a mix of shops and local businesses. Some areas looked historic while others were more modern.

The city felt quiet and peaceful. We didn’t see huge crowds of tourists like at some other ports.

Meeting Locals and Shopping Areas

We found some vendor areas near the waterfront. Local sellers had set up tables with handmade items and regional products.

The people we met were friendly and happy to chat with us. They told us about the area and gave us tips on what to see.

We looked through some crafts and local goods. The prices seemed reasonable compared to other cruise ports.

The Main Square and Historical Areas

Market Square was one of the main spots we visited downtown. It had shops and restaurants inside a historic building.

We walked around looking at the old architecture. Many of the buildings dated back over 100 years.

There were plaques and signs explaining the history of different sites. We learned about the city’s connection to shipbuilding and trade over the centuries.

The waterfront area near Market Square had nice views of the harbor. We could see our ship docked in the distance.

Sea Days and Onboard Memories

Things to Do on the Ship

We spent our sea days trying out different activities. The ship had plenty to keep us busy during the time between ports.

We noticed other passengers enjoying various entertainment options throughout the day. People were moving around the ship, checking out different areas and taking part in what was available.

Some passengers watched movies in their cabins using the provided headphones. We saw the special seats that came with the mint class experience on our flight before the cruise.

Meals and Time with Others

We ate our meals in different spots on the ship. The food came with several courses and gave us a chance to relax.

During one meal, we had:

  • Pharaoh salad
  • Bread roll with butter
  • Lasagna
  • Sweet corn soup

The soup smelled really good. We were watching a show called The Luckiest Man on Earth while we ate.

We enjoyed drinks during our meals. One of us had a Woodford Reserve with Pepsi Zero. The other person got the same meal without the soup.

Taking It Easy

We used our sea days to slow down and rest between our port stops. This gave us time to enjoy the ship without rushing around.

The sea days let us recharge before our next adventure. We could sit back and take in the experience without any plans or schedules to follow.

These quiet moments on the ship balanced out the busy days we spent exploring different ports. We appreciated having time to just be on the water.

Thoughts and Feedback Request

We want to hear from you after you finish watching the movie. We put together all our clips from the 7-day New England cruise on the Majestic Princess into one long video. We also added footage from our Boston adventures and our flight on JetBlue’s mint class.

Several people asked us to make longer videos. We couldn’t really do that, but we could combine our existing videos into a movie format. We started with the Majestic series.

The movie includes:

  • Our JetBlue mint class flight to Boston
  • Walking tour along the Freedom Trail
  • Boarding day
  • All the days of our cruise
  • Every port stop we visited
  • Sea day activities

What We Want to Know

We’d love your feedback once you finish watching. Let us know which cruise series you’d like us to turn into a movie next. Press play, hit the like button, and grab some popcorn.

We made this based on what you asked for. Now we want to know what you think and which series should be next.
